Harit Srikhao's Eternelle Beates
Harit called me one day, asking if I'm interested in writing an exhibition text for his upcoming solo exhibition. It is a big yes.
Harit Srikhao is upcoming photography and mixed media artist in Thailand. Usually, he has new work every 2 years but Bêtes Éternelles is a 4 years project so it's intense and expanded to various subjects than his previous works. It contains his life trauma, nation's trauma, and deconstruction of monarchy which is like a glue to put it all together, Thai authoritarianism which forces people's body to be property.

Note from first meeting

Note and drawing from second meeting

Visiting Harit studio. Looking at his sketchbooks and notes. Talking about works, life, holding back, moving on.
New year partying then realize in the middle of it what I want to say. Taking a note.
"Welcome to the immortalness of Eternelle Beates." It becomes a core I develop the essay around.

Finally, start writing! I always write long articles in 1 sitting so I have to plan the day ahead and tell everyone to inform me prior if they need anything on that period. That day have to be my full day off for writing only.
After I finish, I revised the first draft again 1-2 day(s) after. Then send to Harit Srikhao and gallery VER for feedbacks.
I liked to visit exhibition before opening if I still have some revise time, to see if there anything I have to add more in the essay or remove out. Make the essay sync with the exhibition experience completely.
